And absolutely unique; although I can approximately reproduce a colourway, it can never be exactly the same.Colour is fundamental to my work, particularly subtle gradations that can be found in nature. I am also inspired by the patterns and structures that are found in natural objects, and strive always to create the most sculpted and visually exciting pieces possible. I grow many of the flowers and shrubs that are my inspiration in my garden in Bath - Tree Paeonies, Acers, Lilies, Nerines. I became a professional designer/maker after completing an MA in Textile Design in 2008, and after 20 years' as a psychotherapist in private practice. I had become a specialist in print and devore (etching velvet), but while on the MA, changed my focus to pleating - another way of creating texture in fabric. The last 6 years have been roller-coaster-like, with exhibitions and opportunities opening up worldwide - I am having a very exciting time!
