Inspiration
Jessica discovered personal ephemera from Gladys’ 21st birthday party in 1941, hidden away from harm in the pocket of a worn leather suitcase. Birthday cards, evocative photographs, letters, even her father’s birthday speech lay waiting patiently for Jessica to seek inspiration from and in turn reignite the living memory of Gladys.
The motif of a key represents, her 'Key to the Door' and entrance to adulthood.
