Growing up, I was always fascinated at how my mother used fashion and accessories to not only change her appearance but to express different sides of her personality. She encouraged me to not only love fashion, but to also develop my own personal style. But when it came to ‘outdoor’ dressing, I found it all too easy to forget style for practicality. My decision to become a designer came totally out of the blue when I moved to Amsterdam to persue a career in advertising.
In 2010, I decided it was time for a new challenge: to innovate in the accessories market by designing stylish, yet practical accessories. And so L FOR LAZARUS and its signature product the Échapeau were born.Derived from the French words for scarf and hat (écharpe and chapeau), the Échapeau is an elegant combination of both. Their versatile design, which incorporates a unique snap fastening system, means they can be worn either as one stylish piece, or as a classic hat & scarf set or as individual items.
